I'd like to help with some simple graphics . . .

If I can help, I know Processing which is a programming language to make really easy images. Here's a demo of my work: http://www.mediafire.com/?qhgmbohmhmq Click once to start it and again to stop it. I think that emerald is really cool. I also can perform some amazing simple tasks on a Apple Mac computer like make a BYOB for Mac. I might be able to help like that too. Please reply.

I'm sorry that I am copying Filo5's old signature, but it is very awesome. As they say, imitation is the highest form of flattery.

Cool, but Emerald Team doesn't use Processing. If you know some C#, you can help me with Diamond.

I started to learn a tiny little bit of python about a year back, and have no idea about C#. I'll try to catch up on some python. I'll also see how much of the Emerald source code I can understand.

Re: I'd like to help with some simple graphics . . .

Yes, if you know any C# or Python, you would be invaluable.

but also, if you knew some C++, or visual basic, there is a guy developing a C++ version of M30W, and a Visual Basic version.

And guess what! they're both compatable.

So, anything you can do to help.

would be appreciated.

Re: I'd like to help with some simple graphics . . .

It gives me an annoying callback error, but otherwise, um, it's a calculator.not too much to say anyhow.

It shows that you either care enough to link to something you've already done, or have made something to prove yourself.

which means there oughta be something for you to do.

umm, maybe an interpreting mode?

like, instead of adding the command to the program, add a part to the theoretical gui which says "interpret mode"

so, it turns itself into a M30W interpreter, like a BASIC interpreter, except not

erm, an idea.

You come up with a good idea, implement it, etc. I think development is slow right now, but I don't really know if that's the case with filo5 and uh, that other guy doing a graphics module.

Its slow because we are tryng to implement the GUI.

Re: I'd like to help with some simple graphics . . .

besides, I'm not doing "graphic module". M3OW is done in Python, and I'm doing Diamond (which is I think about to be renamed to Visual M3OW or something like that).

No, you're not alive. you are simply a spiritual manifestation created by some random person to try and exceed my python GUI skills because he was jealous.

no. we need an editor to make M30W a scripting language before we can have sprites. It's impossible to have them with a command-line program. And I was doing sprites and things, not GUIs.

But we have to do them together since M30W is an object orintated programing language, or more accurately, a sprite orintated programing. So if we just have it as a text-based one, it could work, but then we'd have to make a whole load of changes to then add sprites.

what i mean is, M30W is great for text-based programs, but when I tried to add sprite functionality, I ran into all sorts of problems like how do i keep track of sprites? how can i make it so that they do everything there supposed to do when M30W doesn't have an event loop? It won't work. for example, let's say i made a sprite class. that's all well and good, but then i have to keep track of how many times i instantiate it. THEN M03W somehow has to go through this list of thing the instances of the sprite can do WHILE checking for text input. No can do, the sprites won't work the way M30W is now.
