Originally, I intended a Star Trek spoof, but it kinda went Navy. OK, back on topic: M30W Syntax. Anybody got any ideas?

Curly brackets and semi-colons, but make them optional. Possible?

Yeah, I like what MarkyParky56 is getting at. Have an option menu somewhere and one of the things could be "Semicolons and Curly Brackets" It should be off until the user chooses it to be on.

Re: When the time comes...the syntax (not done yet, obviously)

How about the program runs properly whether you use semicolons/curly brackets or not? In Python you can do that, but it violates the 'Zen of Python'.

By the way, I'm ready to start writing the interpreter.

Re: When the time comes...the syntax (not done yet, obviously)

Actually, I'd prefer the curly brackets and semicolons, just for the sake of being able to tell where chunks of code begin and end. Don't make the users confused with these two methods.

BTW, I think I'll be getting back on track with Diamond soon.

Sure. Just to say, is the program set up to be able to handle the sprites moving around?

Yes, like M30W and SmallM30W (Like SmallBasic and Basic), then after that we have Diamond or as i like to see it as, Visual M30W. And in between we have M30W++

Why simplify the simple stuff? Can 9q+3p be simplified?

No... it can't, unless you break it down to 3p+1p, but thts not allowed.

I'm relatvely sure that would only work if it were a fraction :D

My average in maths was 98% this last semester.

I only feel mathy when I get 100% on my tests. Which is fairly... often.

Re: When the time comes...the syntax (not done yet, obviously)

It can actually be simplified to 3(3q+1p).

And remember, this is a language for people who are just getting past Scratch to help them get used to text-based languages. We want to keep it simple.
And anyway, new lines are just as easy for the interpreter to realize as the end of a program than semicolons.

Re: When the time comes...the syntax (not done yet, obviously)

well, NSIS allows semicolons at the end of the line simply because it's a comment character.
You're right. We'll keep curly brackets, but leave semicolons optional.
