Gershmer's Site

I'm having troubles making it so you can download Emerald-0.2.py from that site. I've uploaded it but can't download it.

Re: Gershmer's Site

Hmm... GoDaddy (my domain service) must be blocking it. Weird. It does this for Squeak .image files, too. Strange, since I can use .exe files...
For now, either compile py2app and py2exe versions of it, or put in a ZIP or RAR archive.

You don't know how to make a zip archive?

On Windows machines:

   1. Start Windows Explorer (right-click the Start menu, then choose Explore).
   2. Navigate to the folder in which you want to create a .zip file.
   3. On the File menu, point to New, and then click Compressed (zipped) Folder. Type a name for the new folder, and then press ENTER.
   4. Using Windows Explorer, drag any files you wish to place into the .zip file.

On Mac:

To create a compressed file, either Control-click on the file and choose Create Archive (which is Apple-speak for “make a compressed ZIP file”). Or you can click on a file, then go to the Action menu (the button that looks like a gear up in the Finder window’s toolbar), and choose Create Archive from there. Either way, it quickly creates a new file, with the file extension “.zip.” This is the compressed file. You can also compress several different files (like three, for example) into one single archive file — just Command-click (or Shift-click contiguous files) on all the files you want included, then choose Create Archive of X Items from the Action menu. A file will be created named “Archive.zip” (that’s it!). By the way, if someone sends you a ZIP file, don’t sweat it — just double-click it and OSX will extract it.

Oh, .zip I know how, .exe version of Emerald I don't know how. I can make a installer (like a .zip but a .exe).

.APP versions : http://svn.pythonmac.org/py2app/py2app/ … index.html
.EXE versions : http://www.py2exe.org/

Just keep the suggestions doable, and in this section.

I posted this in a sticky. Contains links for STANDALONE (not installer) .exe and .app makers.

But, a zip archive is fine.

Re: Gershmer's Site

I know, I saw, it's just there isn't a compiler, you have to do TONS of stuff.

Then just use a ZIP. I'm pretty sure the Mac compiler is even more complicated.

Re: Gershmer's Site

When uploading, you also need to put .emrld into a .zip file.

Re: Gershmer's Site

Zip will be needed for versions that will become soon, because soon it will be needed to split the program into separate files, or else it will just choke the computer.

Re: Gershmer's Site

I'm researching why my Domain Service doesn't allow certain file types... back in a few days with answers, hopefully.

Re: Gershmer's Site

Is the server also GoDaddy, or just the domain?

I tried the Mac compiler once, HARD! Once I *finally* got it to compile, the program didn't work. I don't use that anymore.
