Instead of being like this (I'm demonstrating in Opal 0.3)

Code:

Opal v0.3
A text-based programming language
Based on 'Emerald' by the Emerald Team
Type 'help' for command list
*Opal is sponsored by the Emerald Team*
Hit enter to initiate Opal
>>> print 'hi'
>>> print 'go away'
>>> list
Program:

print 'hi'
print 'go away'

>>> new
>>> list
Program:

>>>

Where it's like a command line, it would have to be a notepad.

Code:

print 'hi'
print 'go away'

Yeah, thats kinda like what i image it to be, but it would be better if you dont have to completely start over again, like a note pad you could go back and edit previous scripting. But yeah, thats a good idea

Re: Changes to make creating a GUI easier

Its getting there, but not notepad-ish enough. Right now its just commands, we need to have it as code, then click a compile/run button!

Re: Changes to make creating a GUI easier

Same. But I don't have a book to learn by, so I just read it online.

I'm currently working on making Emerald more notepad-like (actually, I'm working on Opal, since it's more advanced so far)

Re: Changes to make creating a GUI easier

you mean a GUI like VBemerld? except cross-platform?

How about C++?

It's cross platform, has gui capabilities, and  it's extensive.

Re: Changes to make creating a GUI easier

Well, mainly because I didn't know you were one of the linuxers until yesterday-ish.

Secondly, because it's not possible:
While(VB == MS)
{
VB != cross-platform
}

It's not possible, because of bill gates.

Let's say it politically correct and without using vb code or whatever.

Visual Basic is not cross platform
because it uses Microsoft's .NET framework, a special part of WINDOWS developer tools

We need to find out how to do this without using .net to much.
