A VERY Important Suggestion

I suggest that you download Emerald 0.3.

Re: A VERY Important Suggestion

I agree.

And you can also download my slight mod of emerald 0.3, emerald 0.3a. (the about page says emerald team: <members> instead of contributors <programmers>)

Code:

print
Testing 1 2 3
ask
Is this working?
w
yes

and came out with a crash.

Code:

CRASH, SQEEEEEEEKKKKEEEEEKEKEKEKEKEK, BOOM, EARRRRRNN, BANG, BOOM!

^ ^ Not very good ^ ^

Re: A VERY Important Suggestion

It works for me. :/

What are you using to run python scripts? I use Python Launcher 2.6.3.

Re: A VERY Important Suggestion

I got two python files, one in a folder and another out. The folder is named "Mac" something something, what is this for? And I'm using 2.5

the folder _macosx is for macs, it's a hidden file that will show up on windows, but not on macosx.

@floppy_gunk when you close the tkinter window with the x button (close button in ms windows), it should close the command line, too. Because if you try and log things into the command line with the tkinter window closed, you get a crash.

Also, think it's time you joined the team.

Re: A VERY Important Suggestion

Double Post (sorry, just felt it was necessary)

http://gershmer.net/emeraldteam/emerald0.3a.zip

I slightly modified emerald 0.3 by floppy_gunk to list the whole emerald team, not just its programmers.

This new version I call emerald 0.3a.

Also, how do you print variables?

I understand how to use variables with the ask command (title of window) but not with the print command.

Re: A VERY Important Suggestion

Um, I don't think it should show the whole team. :/

Print variables:

Code:

add variables
Bob
Testing 1 2 3
print
Bob

should show:

Code:

Testing 1 2 3

Hope that helps!

For Floppy to join he needs to make multiple commands or graphics + commands or make it so you can type in everything on one line.

Wanted:

Code:

print Hiya!

Current:

Code:

print
Hiya!

Make sense?

Yes. It all makes sense. Except for the part where you think it should only list the programmers.

& Wow! You're making floppy_gunk do a lot of work before he gets the privelege. All I have to do is pay $6.95 a year and give you a guys an FTP username. Wow.

Re: A VERY Important Suggestion

If I could pay, then I would've done it, this would be a different link and so much more we would have! So paying for anything is greatly useful. :)

I've tried to do that, but so far it hasn't worked.

I quite agree. :)

I'll do as much as I can in the weekend. I'm overloaded with homework. :(

I think I've done enough to be in the Emerald team already. Why do I have to do a whole lot more than everyone else to get into the team? I find it very unfair.

Well, you only added 1 thing, that's all, and that one thing was pretty much useless, neh?

Floppy actually did some nice programming.

He:

1.made the printed text (logged with print) appear in the tkinter window he designed.
2.made a tkinter window (duh)
3.the ask command is very cool. opens up a tkinter window with a input line. has a very nice use
4.using his tkinter code in his .py file, I made my first python project: http://downloads.gershmer.net/pytk.zip

and, btw, I just checked, it's $7.15 a year. (currently have 2year contract, will extend when 2 years is up)

If you never ran the program because it was crashing, I'll screen-record a video for you.

Re: A VERY Important Suggestion

Okay, that works! Btw, please don't make anything in Python 3 as that would be very obnoxious. ;)

What do you mean? Like my new python skills I have up for download at http://gershmer.net/programs.html?

If so, no. I'll be using Python 2.5 or 2.6.

Re: A VERY Important Suggestion

Well, I meant that the projects will only be compatible with 0.3 Emerald/ Python 2.6 but now I realize it's also compatible with 0.2E/2.5P/2.6P. (P = Python E= Emerald)
