Re: Installer

CreateInstall Free... Hmm, is that one of these click-it-all-up programs?

Anyway, it is something like improvement. I'm thinking of either Flash-And-MSI* thing or NSIS (which has the cool, installshield**-looking UI to download).

* It means the Flash-generated application will do the UI and the WiX-generated MSIs will do the proper installation. It will require some pre-unpacking too, but if Gersh's needs to be pre-unpacked, so does mine.

A .pak file it required. Lol.

I used the iexpress wizard to combine the installer and its .pak file.

Re: Installer

Compress that file, then put it in a folder, then compress the folder and do that over and over? Kinda stupid. xD

Re: Installer

I tried that. It is possible, but It's quite pointless. And the second .zip file is larger than the first.

But I don't think .zip files can be compressed.

Re: Installer

thats why it is hard to open in a zip folder, it asks you if you want to extract the file(s) or run it.

Blade wrote:

I put a .zip file (around 2800 bytes) into a folder (0 bytes) and compressed it. The new .zip file was around 3200 bytes. I unzip it, and then the original .zip file, and none of the files in it were corrupted. This proves that:

1. You cannot compress a .zip file, since it is already compressed.

2. A file compressed twice does not get corrupted.

3. A compressed folder is larger than a non-compressed folder.
