C# Users: Games in C#

I've found a cool e-book about game creation with C# (don't worry, not-C-sharpers, it has also three chapters to learn the language itself). Download it from here: Beginning CSharp Game Programming (2005).pdf warning: Polish server; might be a bit slow
Mirror: http://www.gershmer.net/csharpgame.pdf

If doesn't start automatically after click (eg. redirect you to a polish site przeklej.pl), just click again.

Re: C# Users: Games in C#

But we're not making a game in C#. We're using c# to write emerald, which i a tool which can be used for games. Am i right?

Yep, you're right. Or was that a rhetorical question?

I'm going to move this thread to the General Discussion forum.

Re: C# Users: Games in C#

why general, maybe it should be in a new forum, called other, or something programing related, other than the dev forum?

You weren't asked to make a new section.

Re: C# Users: Games in C#

...so I've put it in Development, because we could have used it to make C++/C# version of Emerald using this ebook. But yeah, I agree, it doesn't have much to do with actual Python dev.

Can you at least get this working?

You released it a while back, but never fixed it.

Re: C# Users: Games in C#

Gersh: No. I deleted project files for this. Sorry.
Marky: Good question. After renaming the project to Diamond, all the namespaces got mixed up so I ended up wondering if the window I want to invoke is in Diamond namespace or Emerald_Editor namespace. Besides, it needed a total teardown for project-driven edit model.

Re: C# Users: Games in C#

namespace is where you put classes in. Java has them, too. Projects made in java have namespaces like com.manufacturer.project. java.lang is also a namespace.

Re: C# Users: Games in C#

I think in VB they're called classes plainly.

Re: C# Users: Games in C#

Even in VB they have namespaces. You can use System.Console.Write in any for from any language (C#, VB, C++, IronPython).
