Replace Tkinter With....

I think we should replace Tkinter with pyGTK

and replace whatever C# API you're using with GTK#, Cause I think it's possible to compile C# for the linuxes.

otherwise, keep doing what you've been doing.

But I believe it's possible.

If I'm not wrong you could use the mono C# compiler.

Magnie will be excited to hear about the C# stuff.

However, we are switching from Tkinter to PyGame.

Re: Replace Tkinter With....

I have MonoDevelop on my Ubuntu and I need to ask my Dad on how to run a .exe program on it, cause we tried a Hello World program and got it to run, but forgot the command to run it.

Re: Replace Tkinter With....

monodevelop?

running exes?

erm, I thought that running exes in Linux required WINE(Wine Is Not an Emulator).

you sure you didn't cd to the folder with the helloworld.exe and typed "wine helloworld.exe"?

Same.

(If there's another way, I can't figure it out, but) in order to run Python scripts on Linux, you have to open up Terminal and type:

Code:

python <name of .py file>

I like linux because it's so awsome!

I still use windows 7 as my main os though.

but for a comparison, my favorite linux is a ten mb image, with a huge package repository

You can make Linux look like Windows 7 though.

Re: Replace Tkinter With....

Yes, that is how you run Python programs, unless you make a launcher or run it in another program and yes, you have to change directories to open it up unless you type "WINE /Desktop/helloworld.exe" :D

I always make a backup account.

in this case, It's in case i forget my (incredibly difficult) password.

Which is why I install notepad++ on my linux, but i use the windows version with wine, cause its easier.
and because it's secretly epic to run windows programs on linux.

I prefer to just have a windows computer to avoid all the annoying things you have to do. So, you have a windows computer to run windows programs. Make sense to me. XD
